How does it work?

Start by typing a place name. The app finds the location, then looks up the weather history for that spot and shows it one month at a time.

Where the data comes from

The weather history comes from Open-Meteo, which builds a continuous record from a century of weather station readings together with measurements from satellites, aircraft, ships and weather balloons.

That means every place has a full record, not only places near a station. It also means a reading is for the area around the place you asked about rather than a single instrument in a field, so a value can differ a little from what the nearest station recorded — most noticeably in the mountains and along coastlines, where conditions change over short distances.
